The MLS TV schedule for the 2023 season features 29 teams now. St. Louis CITY is the most recent expansion side to join the top men’s soccer division in the United States. It, along with the other teams, looks to dethrone LAFC, which won its first MLS Cup this past fall.

The 2023 MLS season kicks off on Saturday, Feb. 25 with a slate of games. The regular season runs all the way through Oct. 21, with the MLS Cup Playoffs following soon after.

With a total of 29 teams in the league now, each team plays a total of 34 games. Seventeen of those are at home, and 17 are on the road for an even split. Almost all games now are on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

However, the major news for this MLS season is the Apple deal with the league and the launch of MLS Season Pass. There is no more Univision or ESPN for watching games, so FOX’s channels have all TV coverage of the league.

Whereas MLS is Back welcomes the season, MLS Decision Day is the regular season finale. That is Oct. 21, and features intra-conference games to decide the regular season standings.

Last season, the season started early due to the World Cup. This season, it starts early and finishes slightly later because of the Leagues Cup. This revised competition features all MLS and Liga MX teams. The MLS regular season pauses on July 15. Then, it resumes on Aug. 20.

Special Games

El Tráfico between LAFC and LA Galaxy is a good way to start the season on Feb. 25. It is one of 13 games on that Saturday, with Seattle facing Colorado the day after.

That is something to remember for this MLS season. Almost all games are on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Occasional games take place on Sundays. However, this is a benefit that stems from the MLS deal with Apple that is broken down below.

For those interested in St. Louis CITY, the club makes its debut on that busy Saturday in late February. However, the club inaugurates its new stadium, CITYPARK, the following weekend against last year’s newcomers, Charlotte FC.

We also have the return of Rivalry Week. This year, that is on the week from May 13 to 20. For example, watch Inter Miami play Orlando City, New York Red Bulls host NYCFC and Colorado Rapids take on Real Salt Lake.

There are major changes when it comes to watching Major League Soccer this year.

The debut of MLS Season Pass on Apple is the big one. MLS Season Pass is $14.99 per month, or $99 per season, and it has every single MLS regular season and playoff game. There is English- and Spanish-language broadcasts for every game. Moreover, there are French broadcasts for the games involving Canadian teams. Games no longer are available on ESPN+. Additionally, you can listen to home and away radio broadcasts for a more personal feel.

For the 2022 season, there will be 34 games on TV. There are 15 on FOX and 19 on FS1. FOX Deportes has about one Spanish-language TV broadcast per week, too.
