Gal Gadot’s future as Wonder Woman became uncertain when Gunn and Peter Safran took over DC Studios in October 2022. Alexandra Daddario is the most popular choice to take up the Wonder Woman mantle. After a jaw-dropping image of the actress in the hero’s costume has gone viral.
Sadly the photo gives no confirmation that Daddario will take on the role. As the image was actually created by digital artist Jaxson Derr. He shared a digital rendition of the actress wearing the Wonder Woman costume to his Instagram, with the caption: “Dying to see Wonder Woman wear a cape. Maybe Alexandra Daddario could rock it in the DCU?” However, Gal Gadot reprises Wonder Woman in Shazam! Fury Of The Gods, so it doesn’t look like she’s giving up the role anytime soon.
Whilst it’s hard to imagine Gal Gadot not playing Wonder Woman; there’s no denying that Alexandra Daddario would fill the Amazonian warrior’s shoes well. Since Jaxson’s image has gone viral, fans have declared Daddario to be one of the top actresses to play the blue blood demi-god on screen.
This is not the first time Daddario has been caught up in superhero rumors. Back in 2014, reports claimed that Marvel shortlisted the actress to take on the role of Jessica Jones in the titular Netflix series. However, Krysten Ritter ultimately scored the part.
